As CEO of RMI International, Richard (Rick) Rodriguez Sr. is familiar with the challenges organizations face due to the continuous changes evolving within the security arena. He began his career with the Vivitar Corporation in 1991 as a Project Manager, functioning as liaison between the company and Department of Defense clients, and was responsible for field response during emergency situations. In 1993, he moved to Omega Corporate Security, Inc. where he was assigned as Branch Manager. There, Rick managed branch operations and handled all employee and client relations, while concurrently training as an Executive Protection Specialist. In 1994, he was chosen as part of an elite group of Security Relations Specialists for International Corporate Security Ltd. to oversee operations in Bangkok, Thailand. As Vice President, Rick managed international security relationships with dignitaries from numerous countries throughout South East Asia. He was also responsible for the executive protection of corporate executives and high profile personnel traveling in Thailand, and surrounding countries.
His last assignment in South East Asia was to aid the office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior and the Foreign Trade Office in Thailand with executive protection requirements. Upon returning to the Continental U.S., he was employed as the International Crisis Management Administrator and Executive Protection Specialist for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. During this time, he envisioned a tremendous need for Protection Specialists within large corporations, and subsequently founded RODBAT Management, Inc. (now RMI International) to fill that need.
To date, Rick has served over thirty clients in almost twenty countries on executive protection details, and he has made a name for himself in the private security industry through his unwavering commitment to detail, planning, and execution of comprehensive personnel and asset protection programs. Rick prides himself on being able to locate and motivate security professionals, and leads people with those assets through extensive training and development, detailed direction, and a personal commitment to accomplish his client’s security objectives.
Lupe Rodriguez, CFO
Lupe Rodriguez began her career in finance over 20 years ago, starting with, Security Pacific Bank, (SPB) where she began as a teller before quickly rising through the ranks in the central cash vault. Her rapid rise is contributed to her ability to quickly and effectively grasp financial issues and implement immediate solutions.
Upon Bank of Americas' acquisition of SPB, Lupe left the bank to further develop her financial capabilities by accepting a position with Bullet Freight Systems, as an assistant to the credit manager. During her tenure she was responsible for many financial aspects dealing with the issuance of credit and collections.
In 1996, when Rick founded RODBAT he asked his wife's help in building a true American dream, a successful American minority owned company who could address the unique security needs that faced the world. In true form Lupe embraced the vision wholeheartedly and currently oversees all financial aspects of their company. Her job includes managing and overseeing annual sales in excess of 10 million dollars.
Greg Rodriguez, International Operations Director
A retired FBI Special Agent, Greg Rodriguez joined the RMI team in 2004. After a twenty six year career with the FBI, Mr. Rodriguez is now part of a growing International Security Company dedicated to providing quality service to its clients. Mr. Rodriguez brings to RMI a wealth of experience in Crisis Management, Police training, hostage negotiations and a wide gamut of investigative techniques. After his last assignment in Guadalajara, Mexico, Mr. Rodriguez was the Security Consultant to Honda de Mexico providing quality assessment on all matters relating to Executive protection and plant security.
Mr. Rodriguez has remained in Mexico to provide services related to Security Consulting to American Companies doing business in Mexico. His vast experience in Mexico dating back to 1996, has provided Mr. Rodriguez with a wealth of knowledge when it comes to doing business in Mexico. Mr. Rodriguez will be involved with the training aspects at RMI as well as all other services deemed necessary for the benefit of RMI’s clients worldwide.
Clarence Roshell, Senior Manager
Clarence is an Army Veteran who, upon graduation from Zephyrhills High School, Florida, in 1997 immediately joined the military. He attended and graduated from United States Army Military Police School, Fort McClellan, Alabama. Serving eight years as a military police officer, his service took him to four overseas tours of duty. From being a member of Retired General, Tommy Franks’ personal protection team to his final overseas assignment as a team leader during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Upon departure of the military in February 2005, he joined the RMI team as the Western Regional Manager for American Honda Motor, Co., a position that he held for approximately one year. Clarence was then promoted to the Operations Manager of RMI International Inc. Where he currently controls and manages multiple accounts for our company.
With a positive outlook on the industry and a great understanding of the business, Clarence looks forward to working with our entire staff. His vast experience and unlimited knowledge is a great asset to the RMI team and our company’s vision.
Konnie Shanks Eastern Regional Manager, AHM CORP.
Konnie began her career in the security field in 1994. She worked for a major automobile manufacturing company in Ohio for 10 years with 14,000 associates and a guard staff with over 300 associates. She brings with her to RMI International a vast area of knowledge in the security business. She started as a line guard in 1994 and rose quickly into management. She has successfully managed positions such as, Account Manager, Security Administrator, and Security Systems Administrator for the Emergency Communication Center, Project Manager and Security Special Event Coordinator.
Konnie Shanks joined the team at RMI International in 2004 to become part of a growing and exciting Security company. She holds the position of Eastern Regional Manager and is responsible for managing 8 sites in the Midwest and Eastern region of the country.
Konnie is based at our Troy, Ohio office, but travels up and down the east coast supplying hands on attention to our clients and our field supervisors and their staff.
Jerry Singletary, Account Manager (Honda of South Carolina)
A Command Sergeant Major (Retired) after thirty years in the United States Army, Jerry joined the RMI team in 2003. Jerry is a native South Carolinian who, after graduation from Lake City High School, joined the United States Army as a Combat Engineer. During his tenure in the military, he serve in every leadership position from Team Leader to the highest grade an enlisted member can hold, Command Sergeant Major.
His service took him to four tours of duty overseas to include being Battalion Operation Sergeant during Desert Storm/ Shield. His stateside assignments included Sergeant Major of Director Combat Development of Engineer Systems. Battalion and Brigade Command Sergeant Major.
After September 11, 2001, He was assigned to First United States Army with the responsibility of ensuring all Army Reserves and National Guards from the states of Alabama and Mississippi was trained for deployment for Home Land Security and to fight this Nation’s wars
Upon leaving the military service, he joined RMI in 2003 as a security officer, where he rose to become a Lieutenant and Account Manager for Honda of South Carolina where he currently is employed.
Jeffrey "Jumbo" Anderson
Jeff Anderson is the President of J. Anderson & Associates. He is a retired Deputy Sheriff and a California P.O.S.T. recognized expert in Force Options and Weaponless Defense. He holds 3 Black-belts; a 5th Degree (Godan) in Shudokan Ryu Taiho Jutsu, a 3rd Degree (Sandan) in Shudokan Ryu Karate, and a 2nd Degree (I Dan) in Hapkido. In 2004 Mr. Anderson was inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame, as an Outstanding Instructor of the Year. He is a graduate of the Executive Protection Institute, Berryville, West Virginia, and the U.S. Army Dignitary Protection Course, Germany. He is an active member of the Nine Lives Association, for Protection Specialist.
He perfected his skills as a highly decorated member of the U.S. Army Airborne for ten years and later as a Deputy Sheriff for Riverside County, California. The Police Hall of Fame recognizes him as a Legion of Merit and a Purple Heart recipient. He has instructed Weaponless Defense for several Military Courses and Force Options for Law Enforcement Academies, and Advanced Officer Training.
He is currently a Force Option Training Instructor for a Southern California Police Department and Sheriff's Department. He is on the California P.O.S.T. Perishable Skills Program Advisory Board for Arrest and Control Tactics and Force Options. He is a P.O.S.T. Force Options Training Instructor, training officers statewide. He is a member of ASLET (American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers) providing customized training to Law Enforcement, Security Agencies, Fortune 500 Companies, Protection Details and Private Business.
